YEAR 2 MULTI-SKILLS

On a wet and miserable morning the year 2 pupils from the Longcroft cluster met at the Sports Hall for their annual event. The reception at the Sports Hall just had space for the shoes, bags and coats and I think everyone went home in their own belongings!!! The Y11 students who had taken the Sports Leaders Award last year were running the morning of activity and did a fantastic job of coaching skills and motivating children. There were 15 activities which involved throwing & catching, running & jumping, balance and team work. Nippy put in an appearance and helped cheer the children on. All the year 2 children from Leconfield, Lockington, Molescroft and St.Marys had earned their ‘well done’ sticker. Mrs Fitzpatrick thinks the staff from the schools deserved one too…….Leaders report  ‘The year 2’s arrived raring to go. The activity leaders were almost as excited as the children. The activities ranged from balancing to shooting hoops. The children started off a little shy and quiet but got bolder as the event proceeded. Every face was a picture of fun and enjoyment. The morning ended quickly with the leaders more tired than the children! Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time, including ‘Nippy’ the Kangaroo (Bridlington SSP mascot) who was set upon by over excited children. The morning was a big success. The following was received from Leconfield Primary written beautifully by hand‘Dear Mrs Fitzpatrick, Thank you so much for inviting us to the multi-skills morning. We had a fantastic time trying out lots of the activities. There were so many exciting activities we can’t decide which was our favourite! Please say thank you to the children and teachers who organized everything. We would love to come again! From Year 2
